Operator Environment
Operators have an efficient and safe place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The most important objective is to offer optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and big glass areas unobstructed so as to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is extremely comfortable and gently rounded. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential information, so as to keep the operator functioning as efficiently as she or he could.
Noise levels and vibration controls are kept low due to the insulated mounting on the chassis. So that they can maintain an optimal working position, the operator seat and hydraulic controls are all individually adjustable. Furthermore, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for maximum comfort. There are 2 simple to operate, multi-functioned ergonomically positioned levers which are provided for the horn, window washers, gear changing and windscreen wipers.
To ensure a comfy cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit supplies incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The equipment has a robust 3-speed fan for cooling, heating, defrosting and recirculation. As an extra option, air conditioning can be fitted.
Instrumentation
The instrument panel in the spirit delta cab has been logically grouped and are all within easy reach. The standard instruments which comprise: low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, high gearbox oil temperature and applied parking brake. In addition, gauges display values for fuel quantity, operating time, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is one of the main options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machinery. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS or Electronic Control System and incorporated by this system. The full text display and the single warning lamp show any errors that occur and their current values.
