Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run utilizing LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
So as to prevent possible serious injury, certain precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For instance: be sure to wear the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
