Narrow aisle forklifts
Commonly utilized in warehouse operations is the Narrow Aisle Forklift. These types of forklifts are essential equipments in the business because their extreme maneuverability and small size allow warehouses to use space to maximum storing capacity. They can easily pass aisles as narrow as 1.8 meters wide, while typical lift trucks need at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two types are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The former require 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whereas the second could function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The narrow aisle forklift design includes forks positioned at right angles to the truck body. The trucks do not have to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This particular design feature is the key to their suitability for tight spaces.
Some very narrow aisle forklifts come with optical or wire guidance systems which make certain that the forklift moves in a straight line down the aisle, which leaves the operator free to focus on load picking and placement.
These kinds of lifts are outfitted with cushion tires made from solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on concrete floors and paved, smooth surfaces. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors that is best utilized in indoor environments. Propane-powered versions are available also.
