In 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism really impressed clients and hence, the name was established.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, as the need for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into making telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Because of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is devoted to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machinery are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine needs to be driven significant distances, like for example in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
As opposed to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach overall. These machinery are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machinery deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
