A type of machine in the material handling industry that can be used to raise and transport loads from one location to another is known as a forklift. Every forklift part has a particular function. Various components can be used to transport the load either horizontally or vertically.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the components which lower and lift the load. There are different types of masts for raising loads to various heights: duplex, triplex, quad and simplex.
Power Supply
There are four various ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is situated in the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is situated on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is under the rear of the truck.
Cab
Situated in the center of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The gas pedal, steering wheel, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all situated in the cab.
Frame
The truck frame carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, including the counterweights, which are situated at the back in order to stop the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
